Usually it depends upon where you live. Every country is different. Currently, no state in the USA allows for sex under age 16. The age ranges from 16?18 and represents when a teen is legally considered mature enough to consent to sexual activity.

For information specific to you, Google age of consent laws and reference where you reside.

Should women who wear revealing clothing carry a small amount of the blame if they get raped??

By now you've received 67 answers on your question. But I'm more curious: why YOU give us this question? Is there some reason you think possibly a woman should take some responsibility if she's raped? Or that she should expect to be raped for her choice of clothing?

Do you know that it often doesn?t even matter what a woman wears when they get raped? So why should clothing even be considered a cause for blame? And if it isn?t clothing that?s to blame, then what *is* the cause?

The cause is the rapist.

The rapist deserves ALL the blame.

I watched the video.

Seems your question is a much broader question just tangential to the video. To that I answer, not all women.

The unspoken issue I hear in your question is anger or hurt. Is that correct?

Legal recourse?? Report it to the police because that sounds like assault or battery.

It doesn't matter where you are kicked or who kicks you. Go to the police.

What steps do you take now? I'm not an attorney but if it were me, I would get a lawyer. Then hope my state has 17 as the age of consent and allows for a two year span in age.

Too late to say it now but I bet you wish you were using condoms or some other form of birth control. Another step you could take would be to start directing your friends to get educated so they don't find themselves in the same boat as you. And if she isn't pregnant, USE CONDOMS EVERY TIME going forward.

Other than that, encourage her to talk to her parents for support, and eventually go to the doctor so she can begin with good pre-natal care.

What can YOU learn from this situation?
